7 tips on helping prevention of UTI's.

  1. Drink plenty of water: Staying hydrated can help flush bacteria out of the urinary tract.
  2. Urinate after sexual activity: This can help flush out bacteria that may have entered the urinary tract during intercourse.
  3. Wipe from front to back: After using the toilet, always wipe from front to back to help prevent bacteria from the anus from spreading to the urethra.
  4. Wear breathable underwear: Wearing underwear made from breathable materials e.g. cotton can help keep the area around the urethra dry and reduce the risk of infection.
  5. Avoid using harsh soaps and bubble baths: These can irritate the urethra and increase the risk of infection.
  6. Consider taking low-dose antibiotics: If you have recurrent UTIs, your healthcare provider may recommend taking low-dose antibiotics to prevent future infections.
  7. Take a cranberry supplement: to make your bladder more acidic which prevents bacteria from attaching to the urinary tract walls.

It's important to note that some of the above methods might not work for everyone, and if you have recurrent UTIs, it's recommended to consult with a healthcare provider to understand the underlying causes and develop a personalized plan to prevent future infections.
